This piece conveys the first touch between the two protagonists and also the first venture out of the closet. I was thinking of the term “the grass is always greener on the other side” for people who are finally able to come out, it can be both a positive and negative experience on the other side. The fear of the negative usually keeping a lot of people thinking that just staying closeted will be better. In this image one of the characters is shown shielding and guiding the other, towards somewhere (the future) and it really is the sense of protection and safe space the support of community and inclusivity can create that makes coming out a joyous and relieving experience, so the grass is greener on the other side 💚
